Lost in love is what i feel

Awww - romantic, huh, but I can't help it. It's just how i feel. I can't stop thinking about...you know the drill. Look at everything that has come and gone, what does the future hold?
Who is this Desmond guy? Why is there all that retro equipment in the hatch - did i getcha?
Seriously - I love the show Lost, a lot. It's my new Buffy.
This season has already lived up to the promise of last season and i am on tenterhooks to learn more about the island and all the characters, the ones we know and all these new faces...
I urge sci-fi, mystery and simply brilliant writing fans to check it out!
Take care,
V
PS - lost in love with Alan too, for good measure!

Racing notes - family edition

So, the Amazing Race is back on!!
NOTE - THIS POST IS GOING TO INCLUDE SPOILERS
I was wary about this season - families? Why screw with a good thing?
It was still pretty good - although people seemed a little nicer to one another than they are in couples/pairs. So far they haven't left the States - i really hope that was just a week one thing. This is a race around the world and part of the joy of watching, for me, is that we see everyone interact with various cultures and deal with their own culture shock, finding themselves on foreign soil.
I was saddened to see the Black family go as they seemed like a good team - not a lot of yelling at their children and telling each other to shut up - i was hoping to root for them.
I am definitely a very cruel person - no shrinking from that - i was laughing so hard i was crying when the buggy went out of control and almost ran over the mom on the "widowed mother and her three kids team." Alan's pick to take the race was the sibling team that finished second last.
My pick is likely the family with the teenage son and daughter (they are from the south, very god-fearing, and he is "the head of the family"). Although, i will likely root for others, they seem pretty together and with it.
Another funny point was the widowed mother asking if her kids thought that the Pennsylvania mentioned in the clue referred to the state - as opposed to what exactly?
Also a moment of note - when one of the three daughters, with their father, told their dad to follow the sign that said Brooklyn BR because BR probably stood for bridge - as opposed to what exactly?
I will watch, but i also will have a part of me waiting for a less gimmick-y season next time and, hopefully, a return to the race of old.
Nice cameo by Drew and Kevin (season 1) - "You have to speak to people in a calm and affable manner."
Take care,
V
