Catching up... again

Once again, I have let this blogging business slide...
I wish I could remember all the fun little things I wanted to mention, but as I forgot to blog about them, I can no longer remember and this was supposed to be the place I could go to for little quirky funny stories, just like the ones I didn't jot down...
whew
oh wait, I don't really wish that - if I only get one wish come true (one more that is, natch) then it won't be for that.

My lottery win!
did you know that in less than one minute I can spend more than 20 million dollars? So, Alan had reminded me to check my lottery tickets and threw one on the dresser for me. I went online and checked it out. It was an older ticket, so I was careful to get the date right... I begin checking the numbers and they begin matching. ALL OF THEM!!!! I cannot believe it. I check the jackpot - one winner 21 MILLION DOLLARS. I yell for Al.
I ask Al to check the numbers for me - to check the date on the ticket, everything is good and we are millionaires. I cry a bit and Olivia asks what is wrong. I tell her nothing, and grab her in a big hug. Alan is shaking his head saying that this simply cannot be.
that's when it hits me. This CANNOT be. This isn't happening to us and I look at that ticket. Carefully. And I realize that I have checked the winning numbers slip.
Sigh. Sigh. Sigh. Alan curls it up and throws it at my head.
It was nice while it lasted...

Caca has been replaced by Conka - thankfully. Olivia has also made good friends with her fingers and toes. They will talk to us saying, "Olivia's momma, we're cold" or even just "Hello Olivia's momma."

Olivia has now expressed her desire to go and take in another movie on the big screen, so I am keeping my eyes out for something that looks fun and interesting. So far the only contender is "Open Season" which doesn't look that interesting to me. Maybe once I read a bit more about it.

Hopefully I will be a bit more diligent.
Take care,
V
