The zoo zoo zoo

Well! Tigers and Lizards and Monkeys, oh my!
Olivia and mommy went to the zoo with Oliv's day care.
There were a lot of parent volunteers, so really people just had to look after their own kids, which was nice.
We took the bus (guess who was very excited to be on a big bus with the other kids and parents?) and I was slightly less excited than Olivia - who, once again, wished to sit on the floor of the bus (she wished to sit on the floor of the plane on the Edmonton trip).
Bus seats should have seatbelts. Or some kind of restraints :)
The first animal we saw was a monkey and Olivia was laughing and pointing, "Mon-key!" then we saw the tigers - "Tigers. Roar."
We saw many more monkeys (there was some trepidation at the orangutans) and camels, pigs, goats, a lot of fish, lizards and Olivia's other favourite - the pygmy hippo "Hoppo" (complete with hopping action - although the hippo never actually jumped, i don't want anyone to be misled).
All in all - a good day, with a lot of bus driving. And, as one daycare teacher remarked, "Olivia, I think you are the only child who hasn't slept today."
Next time I drive the car and meet the bus there!
I'm so glad she liked it and wasn't overly shy around the animals.
I want to review the Harry Potter book, but I don't want to spoil it in any way for anyone. So I will just say that I feel the series is back on track and the Order of the Phoenix was a good set up book for this one and what is sure to be an interesting last book when the next one arrives.
Take care,
V

Chances are

So, it's pretty incredible to me that 34 years ago today, a little bundle of joy came into the world and now these many moons later, he is married to me and father to my daughter. That's right! My best friend in the whole wide world turns 34 today. Happy Birthday.
Crazy how everything that happened leads to the now, isn't it?
Sliding Doors and all that.
Take care,
V
